Chemical Booklet Labels

Chemical products come in a variety of forms including liquids, frozen solids, pastes, powders, pills, gels, granules and gases. We produce a lot of booklet labels for business to business products which include industrial, professional or farming applications.

While some of these chemicals are shipped by tankers or rail cars, our products are used mostly for legal and instructional information on plastic, paper, metal or glass containers which includes boxes and bags. The sizes range from a vial with a similar diameter as a pencil to a large drum or big plastic mini-bulk. For AG Chem, it is common to see it shipped in pints, quarts, gallons and 2.5 gallon containers.

The government requires chemical manufacturers and repackagers to carry specific information on the products such as safety, first aid, precautionary statements, environmental hazards, storage and disposal and application instructions. It’s known in the industry as a DFU. (Directions For Use).

Our job is to make all this information fit neatly on the product, look professional and be easy to open and use. It’s not uncommon for JH Bertrand to produce booklet labels with 24 to 84 pages. We’ve done one as big as 112 pages!

JH Bertrand produces booklet labels for
the consumer market as well. We define that as
“household”.

WE LEARNED TO NEVER COMPROMISE DELIVERY FROM OUR AG CHEM CUSTOMERS.

JH Bertrand started making booklet labels for the agricultural chemical industry in the early 1980’s. That’s when the concept of never shutting down a production line became ingrained into our spirit.

The ag market has always been defined by emergency deliveries because they are caught in between constant label changes from the EPA and a very narrow margin for application of their products. We owe our ag chemical customers a lot because they taught us a very valuable discipline- do whatever it takes to make the delivery. It’s been a major foundation of our business and a large part of our success.
